Rangers are skilled stalkers and hunters who make their home in the woods. Their martial skill is nearly the equal of the fighter, but they lack the latter's dedication to the craft of fighting. Instead, the ranger focuses his skills and training on a specific enemy - a type of creature he bears a vengeful grudge against and hunts above all others. Rangers often accept the role of protector, aiding those who live in or travel through the woods. His skills allow him to move quietly and stick to the shadows, especially in natural settings, and he also has special knowledge of certain types of creatures. Finally, an experienced ranger has such a tie to nature that he can actually draw on natural power to cast divine spells, much as a druid does, and like a druid he is often accompanied by animal companions.

WARNING: To cast a spell, a ranger must have a Wisdom score of 10 + the spell's level. For example, to cast a 3rd-level spell, a ranger must have a Wisdom of 13.

- Hit Die: d40.
- Proficiencies: All simple and martial weapons, light and medium armor, and shields.
- Skill Points (*4 at 1st level): 4 + Int Modifier.
- Spellcasting: Ranger Spells. Divine (Wisdom based, armor-related chance of spell failure is ignored).


LEVEL:

1. Dual-Wield: Rangers, when wearing light armor, get all the benefits of having the ambidexterity and two-weapon fighting feats. While wearing medium or heavy armor they lose these benefits.
Trackless Step: This feat grants a +10 competence bonus to Hide and Move Silently checks when in wilderness areas.
2. Jump: A successful check allows a character to jump over pits, vault low fences.
6. Animal Companion: An animal companion may be summoned once per day, until killed or unsummoned.
9. Improved Two-Weapon Fighting: The character with this feat is able to get a second off-hand attack (at a penalty of -5 to his attack roll).
10. Ranged Weapon Specialization - The Ranger gets +10 damage with all kinds of ranged weapons.

EPIC:

21. Epic Ranger
Bane of Enemies - Any weapon the character wields against any of their favored enemies is treated as a bane weapon for that creature type (+20 to hit and an additional +20d20 damage).
25. Epic Ranged Weapon Specialization - The damage increases to +20 damage.
30. Ranged Overwhelming Critical - The Ranger gains 4d12 massive critical damage.

- Must have 14 base WIS to cast all the 4 spell ranks;
- Best races: Elf, Half-Elf, Human, Halfling (no longbow);
- Recommended Equipment: Longbow, Short Bow, Dual Wield, Light Armor, Medium Armor, Light Armor, Robe.

Master of the elven warbands, the Arcane Archer is a warrior skilled in using magic to supplement their combat prowess. Fighters, rangers, paladins, and barbarians become arcane archers to add a little magic to their combat abilities. Conversely, wizards and sorcerers may take this prestige class to add combat capabilities to their repertoire.

- Hit Die: d40
- Skill Points: 4 + Int Modifier

REQUIREMENTS:

Class: Ranger
Race: Elf or Half-Elf
Base Attack: 6
Feats: Weapon Focus (Longbow or Shortbow), Point Blank Shot
Skill: Spellcraft 2

ABILITIES:

Level
1: Enchant Arrow +1 - All arrows fired have +1 enchantment.
2: Enchant Arrow +2.
3: Imbue Arrow - Shoots a powerful arrow doing bow damage per AA level as ballistic damage plus magic damage based on Enchant Arrow level. The arrow explodes dealing 20d6 fire damage per AA level to all enemies near the explosion. Reflex save will for half damage.
Enchant Arrow +3.
4: Enchant Arrow +4.
5: Seeker Arrow - Shoots a powerful arrow doing 3x bow damage per AA level as ballistic damage plus magic damage based on Enchant Arrow level. The arrow cannot miss.
Enchant Arrow +5.
6: Enchant Arrow +6.
7: Enchant Arrow +7.
8: Enchant Arrow +8.
Hail of Arrows - Shoots several arrows doing 3x bow damage per AA level as ballistic damage plus magic damage based on Enchant Arrow level to all nearby enemies.
9: Enchant Arrow +9.
10: Enchant Arrow +10.
Arrow of Death - Shoots a powerful arrow doing bow damage per AA level as ballistic damage plus magic damage based on Enchant Arrow level. The arrow can instantly kill an opponent. Targets immune to death spells or saved by a successful save to avoid the instant kill will receive 30 ballistic damage AA level.

Many armies boast units of soldiers who use a bow as their primary weapon, but most do not possess the discipline to gain the kind of experience the Peerless Archer has. The Peerless Archer devotes his life to perfecting his skill with the bow. All other concerns are secondary. For him, the perfect moment in life occurs when the arrow is loosed and everything depends upon the accuracy of his eye, the steadiness of his hand, and his understanding of his chosen weapon. For the most skilled archers, life is lived to its fullest in that moment. Perfection is a bulls-eye, and everything else is irrelevant.

Throughout the lands, there are few organizations that illicit such a wide variety of sentiments, from feat and hatred to respect and even admiration. One thing is for certain, the Blood Archer is never ignored. The Archer gains abilities tied to their lifeblood. Worse than that, they carry some kind of living bow, a 'Blood Bow' they call it, its strength and accuracy are unparalleled. Those that walk this path are dangerous indeed, for what they become can no longer be called ordinary. The goals of the blood archers are known throughout the world: the extermination of the elven race.

- Hit Die: d50
- Skill points: 2 + int modifier

REQUIREMENTS:

Class: Ranger
Race: No Elf
Alignment: Lawful Evil
Base Attack: 6
Feat: Point Blank Shot
Skills: Craft Weapon 6, Hide 4, Lore 7

ABILITIES:

Level:
1: Poison Blood - You can poison a piercing or slashing weapon or even a bundle of arrows at the cost of HP.
2: Acid Blood - Deals 5d10 acid damage per Blood Archer level to all creatures that hits the Blood Archer.
3: Blood Bow - By hurting himself, the Blood Archer cover his bow with blood, increasing his regeneration by 10/second per character level for 20 seconds. Passively grants the Blood Archer's longbow +6 to both mighty and attack bonus.
4: Blood Regeneration I - After using a Blood Bow, the Blood Archer gain a permanent 100 regeneration bonus every 5 seconds.
Blood Bow - Bonus increases to +8.
5: Ranged Sneak Attack +5d6.
Blood Bow - Bonus increases to +10.
6: Blood Bow - Bonus increases to +12.
7: Blood Regeneration II  - Bonus increases to 200.
Blood Bow - Bonus increases to +14.
8: Ranged Sneak Attack +10d6.
Blood Bow - Bonus increases to +16.
9: Blood Bow - Bonus increases to +18.
10: Ranged Sneak Attack +15d6.
